Our History

It is possible to see, in every corner of the country, the efforts for manifesting and exploiting the mining potential of Anatolia and the endeavor made from prehistoric times until today. In Turkey, the archaeological finds on mining date back to 7000s B.C. Taking into consideration the sale of obsidians extracted in eastern Anatolia to the surrounding tribes through barter during the neolithic period, the importance of Anatolian Civilizations in mining across the world stands out much more clearly.

Eti Bank (Eti Maden), the name of which was given by our Great Leader Atatürk inspired by the Hittite (in Turkish "Eti") Civilization who lived and advanced in mining in the fertile soil of Anatolia, has an important role in our country's mining sector thanks to its activities. Following the periods of world economic crisis and our country's War of Independence, Etibank that offers a combination of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's timeless foresight and industrialization with its driving forces 'natural resources and financial facts', was established on 14.06.1935 under the Law No. 2805 and was named "Eti Holding Inc." following the structuring in early 1998 and "Eti Maden İşletmeleri Genel Müdürlüğü" after the re-structuring in January 2004.
